high beam problem

hey, maybe someone can help me... im probably the worst electrical person on earth, it baffles me...

i have a problem with my high beams on my 89 gtu... when i pull the switch to turn them on, nothing happens... still low beams.... but when the lights are closed and i pull the switch my ftp's light up fine, so im assuming its not the switch.

the high beams USED to work...

is there a relay that could do this? all my fuses are fine

The headlight control system only consists of four basic components; the headlight switch, the dimmer switch (combined with the indicator switch), the headlight relay, and the dimmer relay. If the low beams work and the high beams flash with the low beams off then the headlight switch and relays must be fine, so it will be the dimmer switch. There's a latching circuit in the dimmer switch that keeps thehigh beams on, and this may have failed.

Icemark will probably be able to help with switch repair.

My low beams would work then and my high beams would not... i looked at the releay in the front of the car infront of the rad, and the High beam Relay had rusted. I Replaced it and things work just fine now. I would try with your relay!
