Hi and a Qeustion.

Well, I just picked up a 86 N/A for $300 and I already have a problem Ok, its got far more than one.

The clutch worked a few times then it just stuck on the floor. Any idea's? I was gonna get the Haynes manual but I forgot.

Also, it blows blue like a bastard so it needs new seals. Any idea on cost for this type of rebuild?

Thanks.

Sounds like a bad clutch master or slave cylinder. First, make sure that you have fluid in the resevoir and that the hose has not burst. If that looks good, then replace the master and slave cylinder (if one went, the other one will go soon too) and hose (it's likely original).

As for the smoking, it sounds like bad oil rings. The engine quite likely has a LOT of life left in it, as long as compression is good. Figure about $1000 for a rebuild if you do it yourself and don't have to replace any housings or irons.

^ He's gone and hit it on the bullseye. Also Spottty, Aaron is the one to consult on Turbo-N/A's if you're gonna ask. Welcome to the Rotor-verse.

Haha. I was gonna ask about the turbo' but I dont think I will need one soon.

the entire drivetrain is going into a 1500-1600lbs car so 150hp should be fine...... for a summer. And before anyone asks it will look kinda like this.

its not that I dont like the look of a RX7, I love em, but this body and interior are shot so I thought I would make a 7 out of it.

BTW, thanks alot for the very speedy and knowlegable replies!
