hey ppl who know stuff about VW bugs please come here

I have this guy at work who has a 64 bug bone stock with a 1600cc motor in it.... he claims a whole whopping 60-65hp in that things and thinks it will beat my cars ***....
he also thinks it runs 15's

he also doesn't believe my car makes 146hp stock from the fact b/c his old toyota truck with the 22R didn't even make that much power.... but that truck was quick to him...

and I run somewhere between an 18-20 second 1/4 mile according to him

so if we race who you think will win?

Well, you have to keep in mind that the VW is also EXTREMELY light. There isn't much to them in terms of insulation, padding, etc. There are a number of VWs at the track and those things are very fast.

All I can say is...good luck.

I have owned a '69 and a '71 Beetle both with the 1600 engine. He MIGHT beat you for the first 30 ft because of the light weight but they are really slow and geared funny.

For example my '69 had what I would call a "strong" motor and had aftermarket exhaust. It topped out at 85 MPH and it took a long time to get it there.

If you loose to him your car has issues or his bug is not stock.
