Only if you're tuning an aftermarket ECU.

still dont need it that is an add on to your ecu, an aftermarket ecu completely replaces the computer under the carpet at the front of the car on the passenger side.

If you've got a turbo engine and you plan on doing some tuning, invest in a wideband AF kit. It's not only for a standalone EMS, but will possibly save your engine if you plan on turning up the boost or anything.

Thanks man!

Since your car is n/a, I honestly don't know if I'd worry about putting a wideband on it. Get you some nice suspension and stuff before you have to worry about that, unless your planning on spending thousands of dollars on making your n/a really fast.

The most your gonna be able to get without nitrous and spending an obscene amout of money is gonne be about 200, either invest in a turbo swap or find yourself a turboII

You can just bolt the turbo motor to the n/a tranny but you have to go easy on it, that tranny wasnt built to take that much horsepower, the best thing to do is just swap out the whole drivetrain. Im not exactly sure on what you will need to do electronic wise, i just bought a T2.

well then whats the point of taking it easy if i swap it? lol i want this as a track car only. not a daily driver. it has a racing suspension poly bushings. r compound tires. strut braces front and back. as it sits right now its about 175 hp to the wheels. i already have a limited slip rear end. so i need everything else from there.

Well your limited slip rear was a waste of money, the rear end is bigger from a t2 and has an lsd stock . You have to replace the rear end, the driveshaft, and the tranny along with the engine, and 175 aint much of a track car no offense.

i bought the car with everything done to it for $400! came with the limtied slip and the sock rear end. but anyways. i know its not. but it turns really good. but 175 for a n/a is pretty good i think. for not being bridge ported at all. so where do i start?

Wide bands do help, but really only for turbo apps. 175 na is really good if the block is stock. Are going to be doing time attack or drifting or what?

drifting would be sweet but no where really to do it around here unless its on a road. i wanna do road racing/time attack..and yeah the block is all stock. no porting to anything. i wish lol but i really need to do a turbo swap. i only paid 400 for my RX7. so i think it would be worth the swap

dude you can keep your NA tranny unless you plan on making a good amount of power. i dunno how much hp a na tranny will take but plenty have done turbo swaps and kept there trannys. then again, others say that they busted theirs. i have a supercharged s4 and before i blew the motor (not the tranny!) i was making like 220rwhp. all NA drivetrain. in a few weeks the rebuilt, ported, full exhaust and tuned motor should be in the car making 260+ and ill let you know if the tranny goes...

p.s. DO THE SWAP!! its actually not hard at all and there is PLENTY of info on it
