hey guys, Turbo II question

wats up- my boy just picked up an 87 turbo II black- ive been reading around the FC section and found this is pretty common but he has no low end power or hardly any the engine seems to idle pretty rough in the engine bay but not on the tach- is that normal- idk but he is too damn stubborn to come on here and look so i said ill do the dirty work just bc i love these cars -so i was wondering if there was a "get your car back in stock shape " guide before we started to mess w/ anything i know i should use the search feature but i don t have much time and im busy w/ my probe (trying to bulid it up to get an fd)

So if anyone can reccomend a few things to do and/or a good site id really appreciate it thanks -Rob

If the ACV valve on the exhaust manifold has been removed you will spool slower.

dont own a turboII but from my knowledge or turbocharged cars, you may want to check the vaccuum lines, make sure the motor has good compression in both rotor housings, hows the spark? has it been given proper maintenence? my recommendation is that he find a shop that services rx7's and have them take a look, can be an expensive car to maintain if he just picked it up with no prior knowledge of its service.

Since when the ACV valve was mounted on the exhaust manifold?

Does he mean the twin-scroll actuator? What would the ACV have to do with spool?
