Here it is... Got a pic up finally.

I posted pics of my car before:
It was stock when I got it (I put that Type II bumper on).

But I finally got it out of the paint shop:

This was taken at the NW National NHRA Sport Compact Series race the 17/18th in Woodburn Oregon (reason for all the stickers).

The color is called Pewter Metallic. You can't really see the metallic in this pic.

I have not really touched the motor yet, just has a downpipe for now. Exhaust next week. But I did the suspension (Eibach/KYB AGX), front strut bar, Momo steering wheel, shift ****, injectors, Series 5 tail lights/ front signals, and a BUCH of maintenence crap. I'm not used to having an old car and having to replace so much stuff.

Motor soon I'm sure. 170,000 miles on the original motor. And like the smart guy I am I put 20 runs on it at the race that weekend.

damn I really like that color! Who makes that paint color? I wish my car was black because I am not going to let someone at a paint shop take anything out of my T2! I think that a silver car with red under the hood would look like ****!
Anyway man that car looks great I really cant say enough about that color!!
If you dont mind me asking, how much it cost to get it painted?

My best time was after I was eliminated already. I packed the intercooler w/ ice and ran like that.

15.75 was my best time. Which I am MORE than happy with considering I've never raced a RWD car before and the engine as 170,000 miles on it. It's a feat in itself the motor is still running.

Wow, 170k on original motor in a TII. Don't see that everyday. Mine made it to 114k before it crapped out on me. Nice paint by the way, silver is yummy.

I did most of the prep work on this car myself. The body was pretty straight to begin with. I stripped the car down to nothing when I took it in. The only thing that is not painted is the engine bay. I had all the other jams done. I'll do the bay when I swap the motor.

The paint is just a single stage job. It was very inexpensive. It's all I thought this $2,000 car needed. I was being realistic w/ paint. It looks VERY good for what the paint job cost. The car was sprayed w/ a sealant, two coats of paint, the third coat of paint has clear in it, then another coat of clear on top of that. I had all the UV and every other additive put in too. I've even got a 6 year warranty on it.

But in all honesty, I'm not 100% satisfied w/ it now. I'd like to do more body work to get it perfect. The shop did not do what they were supposed to. So this winter I'll probably strip it all back down and have them re-shoot it. Not going to cost me anymore, just about 30 hours in labor I suspect. By then I'll have fiberglass fenders and I'll probably try and do something custom with the rear 1/4 pannels to make them match the 30mm wider fenders. I will also probably do a headlight covnersion to get rid of the pop up headlights to save some weight by then also. Throw some paint on top of that work and it should look pretty good!

I posted this before, but the car came with all the service records. A female owned it for it's first 10 years of life. She even took it to Mariah a few times (the car spent the last 11 years in the Santa Barbara, CA area.

She definatly babied the engine, not so much the paint though.

That is the CS Type II kit (the Border Racing replica). Well, just the front and sides. I did put on the facotry rear mud gaurds tonight though. Just to do something in the rear.

Oh, the photographer from the race just uploaded another one.

I look HUGE next to that girl! heh.
