Help! What color is the original hardware in Rx7. GTUS restoration
This may seem trivial but I'm restoring my 89 GTUS and I want all the correct hardware inside
I understand what parts need cad plating (goldish) as well as silver
But I'm trying to figure out what color the hardware on a mazda is.
I notice it more in the interior hardware its a greenish black color
The engine bay is weathered or corroded.
I'd rather get the correct color as I want to redo all the brackets as well
(that aren't cad plated)
Powder coating might not be an option as that color is bk08 and that's too dark.
Planning to blast, primer and paint.
Maybe someone sells a similar can if paint or can get it custom made into an aerosol can?
Helps is very much appreciated

the gold is actually a zinc plating, probably.
the greenish stuff i'm not sure about, but you might take something to the plating shop and see if they know

Smells like 2 stroke.
The underhood hardware that looks rusty in your pictures were likely originally "gold zinc" coated. The rest received body-color paint, such as the bolts that retain the fenders. I've seen sub-100k mile FC's with underhood hardware still in near-new condition.
Most visible interior hardware (screws) is gunmetal gray, almost like a tool black or oxide coating.
