Help with vert.
i have an 88 vert in almost amazin condition. cept top wont go down or come up. i get it to where it need to be to work and all i hear is vert motor tryin to work but its not like engagin or catchin on wut it need to lower or raise it back up. any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Do a search and find the factory shop manual, it has some good trouble shooting info using a voltmeter and the diag connector its a white/clear connector 6 pins 4 wires, right next to the pressure sensor underhood on the passengers shock tower I believe.
In the FSM there is also a part that describes using a screwdriver to disengage the motor to allow manual use of the roof incase the motor ever locks up or whatever the case may be. Make sure that is adjusted properly.
I had to drive 3 hrs once in the cold (Fall time frame) because my motor quit working. This was before I found out how to lower the top manually. I got some VERY funny looks on the interstate !
yeah brake is up and i can hear beeping and motor. just wont go down or up. i can manually do it which is how its been done the few times i did drive topless. but i got it right before winter. so i only had it down a few times
