You wont need an external boost controlller if you have an external wastegate. Start with low boost and eventualy raise to desired boost

I would read the info on AaronCakes post. He just did all the searching you will need.

If you dont understand the info on those links, I would highly recomend you seek profesional help.

Uh, you most certainly do need a boost controller if you plan on running boost other then the wastegate spring setting. Internal or external wastegate is irrelevant.

Without the boost controller your setup will run the boost pressure set by the wastegate spring. Of course, not for long if you use the injectors you mention earlier in the thread since the engine will be blown.

A manual boost controller is just a spring loaded valve that opens at a certain pressure. You need to set that pressure by adjusting tension on the spring. Start low and gradually increase boost (by either tightening or loosening the spring, depending on the controller).

Will there be any required adjusting on the bolts of the external wastegate, the ones that connect to the manifold?
Check the manual that came with the wastegate. Some have external adjusting screws, some require you to swap the spring for different boost levels.

Or do I just control the boost with just the **** on the boost controller?
Once it's set up, yes.

Is 550cc really good enough? I would of thought that 720 secondaries would have been a good plan. I would really hate to see a somewhat local FC blow up in a week.

As I have said in several previous posts in this thread, 4 x 550CC is the MINIMUM a person would want to run. And this depends on the turbo. The original poster STILL has not identified the turbo he is planning to run so all of this is a shot in the dark. Bigger turbos then stock require much more fuel. Without the OP providing this info, all advice given is essentially worthless. For all we know he has an OEM turbo off of another car which will probably require LESS fuel then the stock HT-18. Or he has some massive 2nd hand diesel monster and 4 x 1600CC might not be enough.
