Help:Timing for ported motor with fuel computer
Hey, Got a large extened port T2 motor. Running stock timing and a microtech fuel computer.
Car will be going on dyno for tune later in the week. but at present im having issues with the timing. getting a bit of a splutter in the upper rpm 4k+
Im thinking i should get the car idling under 1000rpm and them advance the timing about 5-8 degs from stock ( warm ) to compensate for the larger porting.
im not looking for anyone to tell me exact numbers for where i should be advancing to, just some advice on whether what im doing is right and what others have done when not going to a full stand alone.
Do i need to reset the Inital set conector?

In my experience, but port engines will want less timing then you think. 5-8 degree seems excessive.
