help with sunroof leak

90 gxl

looks like i have a sunroof leak as I have a bunch of water running down the passenger pillars when it rains. I removed the headliner and it looks like water is just pooling directly under the sunroof tracks. I've already checked the drain tubes on all 4 corners and they appear to be wide open.
When i tried pouring a cup of water onto the sunroof tracks, it looks like the water just soaks straight down, and doesnt even make it to the drain tubes.
Is there a way to seal this?
Its getting annoying and starting to happen on the other side.

Your seal which goes around the perimeter of the sun roof might be faulty. This seal is not designed to hold out 100% of the water but if working properly it should ward off most of it. Have you tried pouring water near the corners of the tracks where the drains are located? If you do and the water still congregates then it seems likely that the drains are clogged.

another thing... if you took the time to remove the head liner. i suggest removing the sunroof... i had that water leak in my first 88 gtu, but the previous owner didnt want to buy a new weather seal for it and bought a generic window seal and put that on. i just ripped it off and took the sunroof off. found the drain holes clogged and freed them and made sure they were draining water. before that, i had a wet passenger seat and head visor.

after that, water stopped getting in even without the weather seal. but i eventually got one for my car later. just so it looked good. bought it used from a parts car.

good luck
