HELP stuck caliper piston

i am trying to remove my brake caliper, i found out that my brake pad was gone and the brake piston was grinding the rotor. the rotor was all the way out and i couldnt remove the caliper. any tips to remove it? my friend said just cut the rotor.

what do you mean the rotor was all the way out? I have never heard of a brake pad being COMPLETELY gone. If the pistons was actually hitting the rotor then it sounds like you need a new brake caliper, pads and rotor. Beat the crap out of it to get it off then replace it all. Brakes are nothing to joke about...

Can you provide a better description of what you are saying. "The rotor is all the way out" really doesn't mean anything.

Single piston caliper? Front? Rear? The single piston units often stick on the guide pin. Cut the pin and then replace the pin and caliper. Same with the rear. 4 piston calipers just unbolt and slide off the bracket.
