someone decided to get rid of the exhaust manifold and whatever else goes with that and installed a header pipe right to the block......i dont know what to do
how do i get it back to stock .....i need the pre-cat's obviously....what goes with the exhaust manifold? and how much and where would i get one of those

 

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT WAS REMOVED WHEN A HEADER PIPE WAS INSTALLED ON A 91 RX-7 I HAVE TO MAKE IT BACK TO STOCK TO PASS INSPECTION....NEED SOME HELP PLEASE

 

On an 87 it would only be the exhaust manifold and the cats, I dunno about a 91, but it should be the same.

Was it safety or emissions?

if they looked at it then looked u in the face and laughed then you cant get away w/ just putting a cat in there..

you also need the tube that goes to the cat converter.

that sux hardcore though...thats why i decided to get my exhaust custom made so i could swap in a cat when needed

you should be able to get used header/precats for cheap, but a cat might run u up at least 100 bux

 

Well there should be the exhaust manifold, then 2 pre-cats then a main cat. Do you need to pass a visual inspection, or just emissions??? I have a header, and just 1 high-flow cat and I pass emissions fine. Does the header have a o2 sensor in it???

yeah...werd...this does suck...i can get the headers but i want the high flow pre-cat so i can sell it.....i dont know where to find an exhaust manifold for a 91 rx7 i've been searching for like 2 weeks....i cant even get a price on it

there is no 02 sensor...so the header would pass inspection with a cat....what setup do you have Rxmfn7
i couldnt find cats to fit the header ...just damn silencers...i need it to pass emmissions not visual...i already payed someone off on the visual

 

if anyone has a 90,91 rx7 for parts....i'd buy the stock exhaust manifold off you...name a price

i think someone shoud go to the emissions testing place with leaded fuel. Hopefully, you could rune their equiptment.
