I don't think that is the problem. When I idle in neutral and then put the clutch in and shift into gear the idle level remains about the same and there are no awkward sounds.

1. How cheap?

2. Did you buy it new?

3. Is it a TII tranny?

$35+shipping

I bought a parts car for $500, and took the motor and put in my car and I used the tranmission that was in the car that I wanted to keep, and this one is just extra,

And it came out of an 86 SE N/A. And has if I remember the odometer right, about 140,000 miles on it.
