HELP!S5 smoking from running VERY rich-O2 sensor?

So my friend was driving to my house when he ran through a big water puddle, and then the car started running funny and smoking badly(doesn't have a splash shield). Makes it here limping and smoking, and I notice a fuel leak seemingly coming from under the UIM...possibly at the primaries. I check compression, codes, and everything checked out. So I swap everything on top of the engine from another S5 motor. UIM, rats nest, injectors, all fuel lines after the fuel filter, etc. I figured that would fix it, but upon starting it up, it now runs perfectly, but smokes badly smelling of gas. The check engine light came on and code 12 appeared, TPS. However, this code did not appear while the donor parts on the other engine were in the other car. Anyway, just guessing that possibly the O2 sensor is telling the ECU that its running lean, I unplugged the O2 sensor...checked codes, and still only get 12, TPS. Has anyone seen this before. I don't want to go buy an O2 sensor if I don't need one.
Familiar anyone?

TPS mis-adjusted can cause all sorts of problems

The O2 sensor, really had little effect on the lean/rich condition in daily driving

If it's smoking at idle, then it's definately not your o2 sensor, since that's not used until you're crusing. Does it crank/turnover normally? any new lag or delay on actually starting the car?

I ruled out the TPS because it was fine while on the other motor...but I will look into it.
Yes, it is now smoking at idle. Fires right up with no lag whatsoever, and runs great...just smokes badly, so rich it starts burning your eyes as soon as I park into the garage.
