Help to reduce exhuast noise inside car.

Just got an FC about 4 months ago. The previous owner install a custom stainless steel exhaust with glass packs in the middle section and stainless stesll borla muffers. The car sounds great but it is too loud inside the car.

Is there anyway to insulate the rear of the car to help prevent noise. Somepeople have suggestion using Muffler rapping/tape or having an undercoat sprayed under the car??

Any ideas would be appreciated...before I lose my hearing:>)

turn your stereo up!

no, but really...you can try using some dynamat or other insulation products in the hatch area.

you could also take the glass packs out and have some resonators put in. It will still sound good outside, but it will quiet the inside down signifcantly.

do you have catalytic converters?

Make sure you have that heavy pad under the rear carpet in the hatch.

Also, there is some sort of stuffing inside the shock towers.

Both of those make a difference for me.

Also, if you REALLY want to keep the exhaust the other option is taking out the seats and carpet. Then dynomax the floor pans.

Not sure what that weighs though.

No, that is where the glass packs are now. Each pipe coming from the engine is now independant, no joining in the middle section.

Is dynamat something that needs to order over the internet or should local auto store have it?
