Help Please! Want to remove all emissions crap!!

I know all most of what has to be removed and where block off plates go. My question is, does anyone know where I can find a write up on how to re-route vacume hoses and gas lines. I kinda have an idea but there are no detailed write-ups on how to do this. Please help me. Thanks. -Steve

Gas lines are very straight forward. Look how they are attached, look where the hard line goes to the fuel rails. Just dont mix up the lines when putting on longer rubber (or whatever) fuel lines. Just be sure to get high pressure fuel line. Carb fuel line will baloon under pressure and perhaps pop.

It's pretty easy man...I mean really a no brainer.

Just yank all of the emisions and vacuum lines out. The only things you need vacuum running to are you FPR, brake booster, BOV (if turbo), and the boost sensor (questionable). Just take and yank it all out.

Now, unless you want to run premix and remove your OMP then you'll have to run vac lines from the oil injectors to the largest vac. port on the throttle body.

Fuel lines are very straight forward...if you doubt being able to reroute them...then just leave the VAC web in there with the stock lines attached.

call me stupid, but, I don't understand where you guys are telling me the new fuel lines go. From the filter to what? from the firewall to what? I didn't even know there were a second set of injectors. I don't see where the fuel lines need to be changed. As for the orange, yellow, green connectors on the driver side if the block, does all that come out too. will the injectors work if those are yanked. Sorry, if I sound stupid, this is my first 7 and I'm just trying to understand how to make it better. Thanks for the trouble. -Steve

just pull the acv egr and split air and cats. get the plates use some sealant and block off the holes. don't mess with whats left just cap any open vac lines and leave the spider alone.

It's actually pretty easy. Once you get the intake manifolds off you'll see where there are metal hardlines run all about, you can just remove all of those, and block everything off as everyone said. Now, the fuel hose will run from the fuel filter (on the frame by the drivers side) to the fuel rail, (you're going to have to replace the hose obviously) Then you run another hose from the return feed of the fuel rail to the metal line on the firewall. Once you get that straightened out, you'll notice there's a crankcase vent, and a vent from the oil-filler neck, it's generally a good idea to route these to the charcoal canister somehow (some people open vent them with tiny filters on the end) There should be a vacuum nipple on the lower intake manifold, run a line off of that and leave it hanging for now. Once you have that squared away, stick everything back on, and plug the remaining vac lines on the back of the throttle body, leaving of course the big vac line that runs to the octopus, which connect to the oil injectors. Then on the front of the TB run a line from the topmost vacuum nipple to the FPR, then the bottom one goes to the one you have running from the lower intake. I'm pretty sure that's how I did it, been a long time so I'm sure I may have missed things/have things in the wrong place, so always double check first.

There are four injectors; two primaries mounted in the engine's centre plate right above the ports and two secondaries mounted in the manifold. The primaries and secondaries have seperate fuel rails, with a hose linking them.
If you follow the fuel hose from the filter there are some metal sections that are part of the vacuum spider for all the solenoids (see below). Same goes for the return line. If you remove the whole assembly you need to rerun the fuel hoses using long rubber hose.
As for the orange, yellow, green connectors on the driver side if the block, does all that come out too. will the injectors work if those are yanked.
There are five solenoids with coloured plugs. The blue and gray ones control the ACV that you're pulling off the side of the intake manifold, so they're redundant. The yellow one is for the EGR valve, so that's redundant if you removing it. The orange one is fuel pressure control for the hot-start assist system and the green one is for the twin-scroll turbo control. Those last two are quite useful and should stay, particularly the twin-scroll. The problem is that they're all fixed together in one big assembly, so you either keep it all or loose the lot. Removing the lot will not affect the injectors.

From the sounds of it, you're attempting to jump into a project that you know little about. No offense, but you really need to do a little research on all this stuff before you just start ripping it all off. That's a sure-fire way to cause problems that you'll have trouble fixing. Go to www.fc3s.org and download the EFI chapter of the 88 FSM. Study it thoroughly! Learn what each bit does and how it's all connected up. Also do a search on this forum; you'll find this topic has been discussed in graet detail many times.

First seven? Fuel line routing?? This is your lucky day! I just found a FREE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL at the following url http://www.iluvmyrx7.com and I looked in the FUEL section and found a picture of how the fuel lines are routed. Its on page F2-45 of the 89 manual. I noticed that there is other stuff in that chapter that relates to emissions and all that crap.

I've done extensive research on this matter. It's my first 7 and I'm just making sure that I'm doing it right. I'm very mechanicaly minded and have certs for repair. Like I said, it's my first 7 and I want to do it right. Thanks for the info.

I'm almost done. All the vacuum lines are gone except three, and the new fuel lines are in place, and the block off plates are on. I just need to wait for the intake manifold gasket, then I'll be done. Thanks for all your help.
