Definatly your AFM connection I had the same problem when I put my K&N on, the oil from the filter gets in to the connector and causes the bad connection, and there for hesitations and what not. I not sure if I read correctly but did you get the AFM connector properly disconnected? If so spray both connection points with some electonics cleaner and reconnect. You usually will have to do this about 2 times after you oil your filter and then it will be just fine until you oil it again.

Well,

Next page in the saga.
Removed the AFM to check resistance again and noticed several shorts that should not have been there.

Got out light and magnifying glass and discovered a foil like material that must have been there as part of original install over or near the internal spring contacts.

Went through and removed all of it. Soldered the spring contacts to the board, just to be sure.

When all said and done all resistances are good with the exception of the main variable resistor that is attached to the door. It varies very little, and is barely in spec.

Put it back on and car started right up. Great idle, takes gas well. Let warm up and readjusted TPS.

This was so late did not have time for test drive.

Will do that this evening and will post results.

Tnx Fred
