Question Help Please!!

A question for you guys..i just replaced the alternator on my 86' 7 and is it normal when driving for the volt meter to go back and forth between 12 and 14..I wanted to know if this is normal, i know of course when the lights and stuff like that are turned on than the voltage drops, but this happens when im actually driving the car..Its automatic if that helps..thanx in advance

Could be bad wiring or possibly an electrical short.

it's normal for the voltage to go between those two numbers slowly
bu tnot to oscillate quickly

if it vibrates then its bad
if it just goes down cuz theres more drain on your pweor supply dont worry abuot it
