Help a noob with the diff !

i got a 1990 rx7 vert. went to take the diff out. everything is un bolted that i can see clearly getting hung up.. called a rx7 guy and he says i have to lower the sub frame.
where should i start and what all has to be disconnected and what doesnt have too. 1st rx7 and im trying. any help is appreciated.

I didn't drop the subframe. I remove the studs from the front of the diff and wrestled it out. It was a bit of a pain, perhaps it would have been quicker to drop the sub.

unbolt the struts and rear brake calipers, i tend to ziptie the calipers up to teh shocks so they dont hang from the brake lines. Put a floor jack under the subframe, then unbolt the 2 main subframe bolts and the 2 support brackets next to them and lower it down with the floor jack.

Oh yeah, remove your exhaust too..
