Help! New 2 me 87 T2 cats red hot!

Hey guys, I had test drove this 87 T2 twice and it ran fine, low on boost, but I figured some lost vacume or cracked TID...Never ran hot, no smoke at startup or anything...Took 2 long test drives... Go her up to about 90 MPH both times...Fine...
Today I go to pick it up, pay the man...Go out to take off and the when I put the key in the ignition and turned it the alarm/security system goes off, horn honking up a storm, it won't even stop until we disconected the battery...
So I think great, I need to get out & back in town before rush hour traffic hits...NOPE!
So I disconnect the horns...
Now no power...Nothing, the guy had come out and says, I haven't drove the car much at all, maybe it needs a jump?
So we try jumping it, no go, charge the battery, no go...
So we check the fuses and the "main" fuse (I think) its the fuse in the engine compartment 80 amp...had blown, so he gives me a ride up to the parts store, plug it in and it would get power to the accesories...but as soon as I turn the key it would make a pop noise and then nothing...Mess with the battery connections & it would repeat doing that...
Long story shorter...He goes well, I just had a proiblem with the key today unlocking it and maybe the security system is messed up?
So I can't even get the key in the drivers side lock to turn it, I see broken plastic in the key hole...
So I think I remember where the security system can disable the car?...
I pop the door panel and disconnect a electrical connection coming from the door handle and say try it, he does and it fires up...Great I thought, cool, I am on my way...
NOPE! I take off and it feels like its running on 1 rotor...
I stop get gas, check all the connections under the hood again and it looks like everything is ok...
I go and take off again and in about 2 miles on the hiway...I have smoke coming up from the gear shift area and the pass side seat...YIKES!
I pull over & shut her off and take a look & my down pipe (stock) & cat is glowing red!
I let it cool down for about an hour & limped her back home...
Please help! Any idea's? Thanks for any imput!
(Sorry for the long post)

Thanks Al,
Well, I know it needs plugs...Lets hope the plugs are fouled and its dumping fuel in the cat area...or the cat is clogged...?

The cat is clogged, if you don't need emissions just gut the thing. You will see alot more boost, and it won't glow red hot like that. You will also get some nice flames shootin out the back

Cat delete this am...I also found the plugs to be woefully old...and the trailing plug in the front was barely on its spark plug wire and it is cracked around the ceramic area. I had to get to work and left the "Beast" at home until further review...
Thanks guys!
