Help..neutral switch :(

Ok so got my transmission in my S5 N/A rebuilt and it is pretty much ready to go. We need to replace the neutral switch (wires are all effed up) and I have been searching like crazy and all I can find is the neutral safety switch (which I ended up ordering and having to return because it was a COMPLETELY different part).

Checked haynes manual and service manual to make sure I wasn't crazy and sure enough their is just a "neutral switch" that screws into the side of the transmission.

We also replaced the reverse/5th gear switch no problem and I found that part easily.

Anyone know where I can get this thing? The only place we haven't tried so far is the dealer. Gone to several auto parts stores and all they come up with is the neutral SAFETY switch.

Am I going crazy??

Does this switch have two wires running to it? There is a "Back Up Light" switch aka the Reverse Light switch that is connected to the transmission.

yeah that's the one we were able to find no problem. if you have a service/haynes manual to reference..in the transmission diagram it's #10 I believe.

The following link still lists the Neutral Safety switch for an S5 shown as item #10 in the Haynes manual.

I would recommend posting a WTB thread in the sale/wanted section. I would guess you should find one in decent shape for around $20.00 shipped.
