Exclamation Help Needed Pls!!!!

Hey im probably the newest guy around in here. I hav an 86 FC. Ive had since july with not a single problem until the car failed the emission test. I was told to change sparks, spark wires, etc. I hav changed oil, oil filter, sparks, spark wires, fuel filter n i needed a O2 sensor but when i was getting to taking it off, i noticed it was disconnected, the wire was cut n there was no wire to be found to connect to it. The car had been running fine all the time lik this until a couple of days ago it seemed lik it started running too rich n the engine struggles to idle by itself. I tried to take off the sensor but it wouldnt work. I finally found a wire that could be the one to connect it to, and a friend of mine helped to connect the sensor to it but now it wont even crank up. A couple of days ago it started doin the same thing(not cranking up) but the next day it just did but with some backfiring which seems to prove that it IS running to rich. Right now the car doesnt crank up and I have no idea wat so ever of wat to do now... PLEASE help anyone. I depend on this car for my transportation for work. ANY sort of help will be greatly apppreciated. I am a 'newby' in here so i dont really know who to go to now. THNX for ur help and time.

Sounds like you may have flooded it.

Search for unflood procedures. Use the search button. When you make a thread, have the subject be something relevant, and not just "HELP MEE!!!!"

Also... are you sure you connected the O2 sensor to the right wire? The O2 sensor should go to a plug behind the UIM (upper intake manifold) Don't go connecting wires if you don't know where they go... that's a no no.

hey thanks for the tip i found the website with the instructions for the procedure. I did wat the called the "easy 1-2-3 step dat got da car to crank up but it idles really roughly with a little violent shake and when it is revved up the engine revs, but it vibrates, which did not happen before. today i only had time to try the easy procedure but im going to try the "complex" one tomorrow because im pretty sure the car is not unflooded yet.

about the 02 sensor wire, the wire that we connected it to does come from the back of the intake manifold. it is almost directly above to the side of where the engine and the tranny meet, close to the firewall. but i still cant be 100% sure if it the right wire. is there any way u cud show me a picture???

thanks for the help.
