Help, modifying license holder for 89-92 lights?

What's invloved in modifying my license holder when installing 89-92 rear tail lights on a 88? After forking over too much money for the lights they don't have the license plate holder with it! I've got instructions on the lights themselves but not the license holder.Thanks.

I tried it and it looked like crap. I think a new one from the dealership is about 130 bucks, but you could check a junkyard.

I had to do this way back in the day. I grinded the upper inside corners of the tails a bit with a Dremel and they fit fine. I learned the hard way that the center piece is different.
