help me identify if my t2 motor is actually a S5

ok, well.... ive been reading around and stuff and now im wondering if i got ripped off and the guy sold me a S4 T2 motor and tranny with a S5 ecu and rear end and everything.

1: I went to connect the injector clips to the injectors (using n/a harness), and they wouldnt connect. the injectors are are square (where the plug goes) where as the clip is more rounded like the n/a injectors.

2: Ive read that S5 turbos have an extra nipple for the pressure sensor to connect to on the intake side of the turbo. I took a look at mine, and I do now have that extra nipple.

I do not know what else to look out for to make sure I have a S5 motor, thats why im asking for yours expert opinions. lol

as for the injectors, when i bought my motor, the injectors had the clips on them that fit them, i was wondering, should i cut off the injectors on my harness and solder the other clips onto the harness?

Assuming that the TB was part of the the SAME motor, you can tell its an s5 becuase it will have two throttle position sensors instead of one..

As for the block, I thought they were both the same..

s5 rotorhousings do not have "mazda motor corporation license nsu hiroshima" cast into the top of them like s4s, but they do have a threaded hole above the T plugs, the knock sensor would be on the front rotorhousing here. The s5's USUALLY (not always) have a reinforcement in front of the oil filter, a small triangular chunk of metal to strengthen the dowel pin. I've seen s5 jspecs that didnt have this, and Ive seen late s4's that did. Also, the s5 rear will have a flat terminal style coolant sensor in the iron, versus the round style on s4s. Check for the aforementioned double TPS, and the 3 bolt, black, electronic OMP on the front cover versus the single TPS and 2 bolt mechanical OMP the s4 used. For your turbo, if it has a bent wastegate rod, its an s5, if its straight, its s4.

Thanks

Are you serious? You're making this harder than it is...just go look for the things I spoke of, it'll quickly become obvious. Either the WG rod is, well, straight, or it isnt (bent in the middle instead). Either the OMP is held on by 3 bolts, and it is big and black with wires coming out of it, or it is small, held on by 2 bolts, and has no wires.
