Question Help me identify this component...

I was investigating a strange noise, which I found to be my air pump, that must have a failing bearing (I want to remove it any way), when I noticed this on the lower intake manifold, and it looks like it's supposed to have a vacuum line coming off, there is one hooked up that goes from the intake duct, to the component, and a steel line coming off, that's not plumbed to anything.

I tried locating it in the FSM, and the IPC, but the diagrams are hard to make out for such a tiny part. If anyone can help identify it, and it's purpose that would be extremely helpful.

That is the staring fluid valve for the sub-zero starting assist device. You can remove it and block it off without any issues.

Awesome, thanks. Gives me another question, is there a vacuum line coming off on that metal line? Could that be a potential vacuum leak. The car idles pretty high at cold start, which I know is normal, but I seems more excessive than my last FC.

A vacuum hose does not connect to it. Only a hose for the starting assist fluid. I'm not really sure that it can cause a vacuum leak. If the sub-zero starting assist is already removed from your car, remove the starting fluid valve and block it off.
