Help me find the mythical starter kill wire...been searching all night!
I have an 86 GXL. No factory alarm. I'm hooking up an alarm that's almost finished - got the siren, led, most of the wiring finished.
I cannot for the life of me find the starter kill wire. According to an old thread that Icemark responded to, he stated that:
"starter kill: large gauge blk/grn @ ignition switch or drivers kick panel."
I cannot find this wire. I have pulled out the CPU and the 3 wiring harnesses that are to the left of the driver's side kick panel and I'm stumped.
Can anyone help? Thank you so much if you have any more detail.
Shawn

The Solenoid wire will do in a pinch..
Take the Solenoid wire and Cut into it,add a switch OR alarmand Bam.instant Starter kill switch.
I used that method on my Alarm when I installed it.I Taped the Harness back up and you couldn't even tell the alarm was intstalled..
Use some Spade connectors of Opposite Ends on the "splice'.Just in case you can't find your Remote( I did that ..argghh!) and I just Untaped the portiion of wire, hooked it back up to stock and was able to Start the car up withut having to Travel back home(By Taxi.Costly!!) and Get my Remote!

Look under your TRAIL COIL ASSY. There is a BLUE jumper connector there. On cars WITH theft protection, this Blue jumper would not be there, but there would be a Starter Cut Relay that the plug would be going to.
It'll take you but five minutes to go look. Write back as when you find it. The Black/Green is there along with the black/white that leads to the starter solenoid.
There is another plug inbetween the black/white and the starter solenoid FYI.
Starter circuit diagrams are online like the one attached. NOT all RX have the interlock switch mentioned in the diagram. Just FYI
The BLUE Jumper, jumpers b/t the Black/Green and White/Black (larger black/white in the plug) to complete the start circuit.

I just finished putting an alarm in my 86 base model. I accessed the starter cut-out feature using the factory wiring. The starter cut-out relay is there, and the line comes out at the anti-theft system connector (which was there in my car even though it never had the factory system installed). The starter cut-out relay field is on the wire which is light green with a yellow stripe. Ground that wire and the starter will not operate. You can also get to the door and hatch pin switches, and other relevant circuits, at the same point. The connector is a multi-pin connecter which hands off the front harness left of the fan unit and right of the cooling (evaporator) unit. It is right next to the two relays mounted on the fan box.
