I was wondering would a JET chip help on my torque problem ?
I looked at the VDI and tested it... it seems to work fine...
Also, i dont know how to check the 5th and 6th ports but, i am willing to give it a try.. is there something inexpensive to clean it that does a good job ? I think that there is something wrong somewhere but, i'm going today to the shop to get it all checked out... i hope it's not anything bad... i know that having an auto and convert is a big no no but hey, i like the fact i can drive it around and look cool with the chicks... but, i dont like the fact that i can't get up to race and look good... well, can't have the cake and eat it!

Neato, another one in richmond... where you at? I'm down at VCU now...

Getting that vert to go fast is going to be a chore...how much money do you have to spend on it?

First of all, your aux ports and VDI should not be an issue for poor low end pull because they're not suppose to open for low end anyway. Now if the aux ports were stuck open due to gummed up actuators then(similar to a wired open port), then your low end will suffer. I don't think VDI's ever get stucked open so you should be OK there. Even if your ports and VDI are working, you're low end will not be any better because that's the nature of rotaries and having a heavy car like that compounds the problem. Heck, I even complain about poor low end pull when I stuck a 13B in my 2100lb first gen, though not as bad as my current 90gxl.

If you have 2K to throw at it and you're not stuck on a convertible, I'd sell it & use the money plus the 2K to buy an 5sp NA coupe or Turbo II. Buying the coupe will drop your 0-60 time by 2 seconds (stock vs stock).

If your 'vert can do 0-60 in around 10 seconds, then it's running fine. You just have a heavy car with a power absorbing tranny.

If you have to keep the car, do a Turbo II conversion. It's the only way that car will ever have any above average acceleration.

Hey ka8legend, try this: In 3rd at 1500rpm, floor it and clock the time it takes to get to 3500. Then wire the VDI & 6-ports open and repeat. When I did this, the difference was 1.5 seconds faster with the ports closed!

if you want to keep the auto then 1. you need to drop some weight. you could do a lot of weight reducing here and there.

2. like the previous guy said get a higher stall torque converter and lightened flex plate wqould also help it's like lightening your fly wheel exept for an auto.

just my .20cause my opinion is worth more tan 2cents

You could remove your PS, and AC. Two less pulleys robbing your rear wheels of power. Will make your engine rev up a little quicker, as well as dropping 75+lbs. of weight from your car.
