HELP! Intake problems

Ok so Im making a shorter intake tube with pvc pipe. Ive got it on, with the filter and the MAF. Everything is plugged in, ive checked at least 10 times. But when i start the car up it just dies..... The MAF is slanted down but I thought that didnt matter on S5 cars. Does it? As of right now im clueless as to whats wrong. Ive also shortened the length a lot between the throttle bottle and the air filter, this wouldnt cause anything to happen right? please help

Oh yeah the car is a 90 GTU

sounds like the AFM is not pluged in or you got a big leak between the TB and AFM

I've tried doing that, but it hits my strut bar. The only problem I see is that you will be pulling in ALOT of hot air. Id say that a tube down to the bumper with a cold air box will pull in much cooler air, and be more worth it.
