help with heater core replacment

MS help with heater core replacment

OK i have the blend doors in the heater case that have broke and have to pull the case out .is there a quick/easy way to do this other than pulling the dash ? surly some one has had this problem before .

You dont have to pull the dash, but you do need to unbolt it and pull it forward about 2" or so to give it a little room to wiggle the core out. This allows you to leave most of the electrical connections attached.

Good luck getting a new core. I've had one on order with Summit since the end of November. Black Dragon apparently uses the same supplier too. Mazda is pricy.

So, it stays in the garage until it is warm.

Thanks for the dash tip. If you can't make the trick work, it only takes 20 minutes to pull the dash and maybe 20 fasteners including the steering wheel and cluster.

there is a great writeup in the archives on pulling the dash. It is really quite easy, should only take about an hour the first time. Just be careful with the fasteners.
Just get a core from the for sale section.
