HELP!! funky idle problems

im defnitly in need of some help on my idling problem here
for starters its an 87 TII you can see the mods in my signature
the car starts fine....but upon idle it does a few different things:

1) some of the time the rpms drop way low and the engine shakes like crazy and stutters as it struggles to stay on and eventually dies out

2) at other points it run smoothly but the rpms stay up around the 1500-2000 mark

it pretty much started doing this after i removed the air pump, ACV, EGR and SubZero Start....
ive gone over it about three times and checked for vacumn leaks and i did miss a few but everything has been capped off now

ive tried to turn the screw on the BAC and that did absolutely nothing and i also turned the screw near the afm which goes from rich to lean and that didnt change anything either.....

what could be the problem here????

so i screwed around with a few things last nite and then the car wouldnt hold any kind of idle at any point but i was able to rev it to keep it alive and i tried to drive it around the block and when it tried to boost id hear a loud "whoosh" as if i had an aftermarket BOV that was stuck open.......

so this morning i checked the TPS and the first test showed 1.8 ohms and after tinkering around with it i was able to get it to drop down to like 1.43 consistently and i adjusted the fast cam a little....
now it starts up and holds idle right around 14-1500 rpms consistently and it gets great throttle response....except i reved it up once while i was parked and it just kept going and pegged itself after i let off the gas and i had to shut the car off to make it stop
i looked for something to be stuck near the throttle body and nothing
so i started up and reved it a few times and it seemed fine
took it around the block and shifted into 2nd and before i got to 3rd it just pulled really hard like scared the **** out of me hard!
then i shifted and it was fine drove it around the block nicely after that and got on it a lil hard but it was fine......

so i guess im just stuck at a 1500 rpm idle???

oh yea and after changing things around this morning the whoosh sound went away.....
the other thing ive noticed is that i keep losing this vacumn cap....its the top one in a set of three on the firewall side of the throttle body....this time i shoved on a slightly too small one on there....any reason why it would fall off?
