Help finding idle 87 T2

Ok first off, this car is still stock, down to the cassette deck.. I have searched online, and in the Hanes manual, and am still left without a clue..

The car was undrivable for almost a month while I waited for mazda to get me a part shipped to hawaii, a thermostat upper housing. It used to have a slightly jerky idle around 700 - 1k depending on the weather, now if I come to a stop it dies. I found the little short spot, the green plug that I jump, but I cannot for the life of me find a idle adjust screw. its a 13B and I really havent messed with the motor since its my first rotary and there are ZERO shops here other than mazda that will even look at it. some of the pictures online seem to make it look like it is under the metal grille that the scoop feeds. yes I have no mechanical knowledge of rotaries or turbos, but i was a machinest mate in the navy so if i can find it i can fix it. I just cant find it and dont wanna blindly take stuff off. I've spent 4hrs searching this site and really havent found much as it appears the idle problem threads are all for other motors based on the pictures, or for modified motors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

where are you at in hawaii? Ted is in Honolulu it looks like. im sure you could take it to him.

idle speed is adjusted on the bac valve. download the FSM and look in the fuel and emissions section on page 81. bac valve is on the left side of the upper intake.
