Help finding electrical short!

So on Friday I went to start my car to get home from work, and I turned the key, starter didn't spin or anything, all the lights went dark and power went away. I take out the key, wait a little, the lights are fine again and the seatbelt moves around at normal speed until I turn the key. Then it dims, power goes away. Also at one point the radio kept flickering on and off. Is this a short in the ignition cylinder or something? Any ideas where to start? I'm going to try and get a jump in a few mins to see if it's the battery, but would that actually make the head unit flicker?

1. battery terminals
2. battery (have it charged and tested)
3. bad connection between the battery and the main fuse block
4. short in the wiring

I'm betting on #s 1 or 2

you and arghx were both right. It was a combination of 1 and 2. I scrubbed the terminal cable and slapped em back on. Still no start, but no more flickering or loss of power. Then I had a friend jump it. That did the trick. Thanks! That was easier than I had anticipated.
