TX help on a few things

just got a few things going on. kind of a long story so i will try to keep it short and sweet.

got a 88 vert about 2 months ago. didnt run at the time, but the guy i got it from said it did. then we found out why it wouldnt work. lots of missing things, holes here and there.

so by replacing a few parts, gas tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, water pump, clutch disc, pressure plate, and having the alternator checked, i've hit a few snags in the projectness.

i've posted in this thread already for a random hose in the engine bay not connected to anything.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...rcoal+canister

its the hose that goes to the purge control valve. so i think i got it onto the right thing. but as i attempted to start the car, it refuses to start. the spark plugs have spark but just not wanting to start.

before that hose was connected, it would start up just fine.

should i try to start it with that hose unplugged? i had it plugged with a bolt prior to this problem.

i searched for this problem also, but im pretty much a noob at adjusting things. there have been a number of different solutions to it, but none of them are the exact problem i have from what i remember. when it was running, the car would rev fine if the pedal was not pushed that much. same thing with using the throttle in the engine bay.

i could lightly push it and it would rev when a certain amount of pressure was applied, but if i pushed the pedal too hard i would get a sputter and rpms would immediately drop. it will do that at idle to 7k. doesnt matter what rpm it is at. injectors? something with the intake maybe?

im not sure if thats hesitation or sputtering. i know its a problem and i have to fix it, but im a bit confused with everything this car is doing.

one last thing, whenever i have the windows go up or down, or push the break pedal, (and have the dash lights on) the dash lights dim a little. i know its something electrical obviously, but what?

any help would be amazing. thanks!

That large line goes b/t the charcoal canister and metal nipple at the base of the oil filler tube.

It seems that when you installed it, you MIGHT have taken the fuel lines off. And then reinstalled them backwards. The fwd hard line on the engine, gets the line coming off the fuel filter. The aft hard line then gets the return line.

By hard lines I'm talking about the fuel tubes on the engine that the soft feed line and return line connect to.

I don't see how that hose b/t the base of the oil filler tube could in any way cause a non start.

i dont either. checked it out today.

well turns out the computer thinks the car should run like it would if i were flooring it all the time. its dumping excessive amounts of fuel in the car. basically flooding it.

i have no clue what its doing anymore.
