HELP -- Engine Rebuild
Completed engine assembly and turned motor by hand for the first time. I have a loud chug on the rear housing but have a lesser chug on the front housing. Does this indicate poor compression on the front or does it just need to build compression there?
Please help asap!

fresh rebuilds need time to build up there compression. best thing to do is try to get it run at like 2-3k rpm (im not exactly sure) for maybe about an hour. dont forget to prime the system before you do this though. new rebuilds have low compression. as you drive it or run it it builds up to the proper psi.

Thanks. I under stand they need time to build compression. My concern is that the rear chug out the exhaust port is very stong and that the front has a very little chug. Should there be chug? Should it be the same for both housings? I don't want to put the engine back in the car if this indicates I may have done something wrong with installing the rotor (apex seals ets.) in the front rotor. My initial thought is that I have chug at all it should be in both front and rear and fairly even.

Doh! Nevermind! I had installed plugs in the rear housing and not in the front, so obviously it could not puff air out the front housing. Everything is fine now! Thanks...
