My friend wants to buy a1990 rx-7 none turbo but the engine has some problems.[LIST][*]The engine wont turn back on when it's up to temperature

I was wondering if someone could tell me if that would be somthing serious or just a sensor? Thanks

Could be low compression or leaky injectors or something else.

If I were your friend, I would be wary of buying this car. BE SURE to get a compression check before purchasing.

A few tips on what to look for when buying a 2nd Gen RX-7...

A Mazda dealer should be able to do the test for you as well.

You should have been able to tell that without a compression check... ...

Hot start problem could be anything from injectors to low compression, however a busted Apex seal usually has a super crappy idle--if at all.

Yea it did... it was like it could't find a idle at all. The engine had alot problems but the seller didn't want to tell my friend until I checked it out and with your help we avoided buying a crapy engine.
Im new to rotory engines so im still doing my homework on them
