Unhappy Help with emissons...please.

Ok guys, I need all your tips, cheats, mods, etc... for passing emisions testing. To date I have tried:

1 gallon of ethanol in full tank w/ advanced timing

new catalytic converter (basically whole new exhaust w/ no leaks in it

adjusting fuel mixture (leaning out as much as possible)

That's about all I can think of at the moment however I always fail for hydrocarbons (too much fuel in exhaust). The best reading I've had to date (w/ ethanol) is 1.5 when I need .8 to pass. I am running single exhaust through a stock muffler (i couldn't afford the y-pipe at the time of the exhaust work). I know that's restricting my exhaust like crazy so don't bother posting it. The things I'm going to try next are:

reattaching my O2 line for my exhaust

replacing my EGR assembly

new O2 sensor

If you guys have any other ideas please, please, please let me know. I'm getting desperate because I've only got a little under a month until my temp tags run out.

btw: could i try richening up the fuel mixture a little and unplugging my secondaries?

is there any way to create a temporary exhaust leak? I like the sound of my car without any leaks

you ran the highest octane you could find right? that helps since it contians less gas. You could try one of those gas aditives that say it will help you to pass. Or you could just get a new cat on your car.
