HELP!!! Door wont open *Really screwed*

I picked up a running '90 GTU slicktop the other day for practically nothing, but the day after I got it, the drivers side door quit opening. I cant open it from the inside or outside. I managed to get the panel off and it has obviously broken down at the latch. I cant seem to get it open no matter what I do. I'm now to the point where I'm about to take a prybar from the inside and kick and pry on it til I get it open. Any help would be appreciated.

There are vertical linkages that connect the outside door handle, down to the doorlatch at the striker. One of the linkages is for the lock mechanism, the other is for the latch. Do a combination of up an downs on them until you have the door open.
