Help with body harness clip...

hey guys i'm new to the site...i've been working on this project car for about two years now with my friend, building this shiz is hard as hell....we have a 87 turbo body and a 89 turbo engine...through all of the switching out parts and such my friend accidentally cut the body harness clip that connects to the ecu... i didn't know what the hell i was doing then, but now i know how stupid it was trying to just solder a new clip on from a different year using just wire colors as a reference...we cut the wire really short so it's hard to resolder it without taking out the pins from the clip...this is my problem...i have no clue how to get them out...if anyone could help it would be appreciated...this is a 87 turbo body harness clip...thanks again...

There should be little metal or plastic tabs that stick out to "lock" the pin in place. All you should have to do is depress the tab (from the back of the plug) with a small enough object then pull the pin out. Small straight pick, maybe. Haven't had to tear into mine yet, but that's usually how the plastic molex-type connectors work...

Thanks, i'll give it a try...oh yea one more question. What kind of wire should i get for extending the length of the harness? It seems like some of the wires have different thickness than the others...some look copper while others look silver

As long as you go with the same gauge or larger, you'll have no problems. Make sure you compare the cross-sectional area of the copper conductor for comparisons, not just the insulation...
