Well I bought a 87 tII, I drove it evey day with no problems for 4 months.

Just about 3 weeks ago, when driving on the freeway I started seeing smoke coming out of the hood. The car was not overheating all gauges were fine.
When diveing on the brake down lane the car just shuts off on me.
I get out and poped the hood. I saw flames on the back of the engine on the side were the turbo is at. I quickly shut the hood and called the firedepartment.

Went the fire department showed up the fire was already out.
Nothing realy bad hapend just some melted wires and vacuum lines.

The car ran fine just for a problem idling when it was cold and idled at 1200 when warmed up. and I boged when I go WOT
O AND DIDNT PASS SMOG

Know I need Ideas to what to do. I just go tags a week before the fire. The engine Is an attarco engine with like 50k
I just want it running again
I dont care about smog
I think I could do the work this is my 2nd fc
I driving a civic, so Iam not that much In a hurry.
or take it to a shop to do the work

so let me know what I should do.
