NY Help

I just got my first FC yesturday and i drove it home 6 hours, somethings that i noticed on the car is that it has an oil leak its on the drivers side, near the bottom in the front of the engine does anyone have an idea of what i should be looking at to fix, or is this a major problem internally? also the transmission grinds from first to second if i do it quickly and dont let the rmps drop below 4k, any ways to fix that it also grinds downshifting for fourth to thrid sometimes if i dont do it slowly!!

Thanks

Oil cooler line is leaking. They can be replaced for under $200.

2nd and 3rd gear synchros are worn. New gear oil can help, but the only true fix is a rebuild or new tranny.

forgot to mention car only h as 50,000 original miles 1988 GTU, i suspected the oil cooler lines as well just wanted a secong opinion, now the grinding when shifting could it be maybe the clutch needs adjusting, or a shifter cable or something or is it most likely for sure the syncros? how would go about getting a transmission rebuild kit as i would probably rebuild it myself or with the help or a friend of mine who is a very good mechanic

99% sure on the grinding. Clutch problems would present themselves at any engine speed.

Tranny rebuild parts wouldn't cost too much, it's usually the labor that kills you. But if your friend is up to it, great!
