Exclamation Help!!!!

So i went on a 3 week vacation. I get back home to start my car. So the battery was dead and i had my friend jump the batt..

i checked under the car to see if anything was leaking. AND fuel was spewing out at the bottom of the car. i think it was coming from the middle, behind the oil pan.

please help me fix this problem!!!

I would disengage the fuel pump, put the car up on jack stands and make sure everything is properly connected. Shouldn't be too hard to spot the problem once you take a close look.

Well, If your lucky, its just a busted fuel line or disconnection somewhere along the bottom. Could be a million things that happened. Mice chew on things they shouldn't sometimes. You wont know till you take a look. If you don't have a creeper and some jack stands, I would say that now is about the time to start investing in them. A maglite never hurt anyone either. You should be able to get all these things relatively cheaply at Walmart.

Yeah, I would suspect a leak on the line somewhere. Your fuel pump only starts when the car is on, which is exactly as you describe. If you only have the jack that came with the car, I would find a floor jack to use when its not an emergency. That jack is pretty much only good for changing tires, and I'm not too trusting of it even for that. This is what I would buy. I would say this is order of importance to me.

- Jack Stands (At least 2, 4 is nice)
- Better Jack (Floor jack, NOT Handyman)
- FSM (Some people have posted links to it. Haynes or Chilton will save you a lot of hassle if you need it in the work area.
- Creeper (Nice to work under cars on. Beats laying on the floor.)

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
