Help - buying TII

I need opinions. '87 TII with only a small spot of rust - easy fix, in an unnoticeable place. Two shocks need to be replaced, engine's running unevenly, and dies at idle, but then starts right back up and runs perfectly (except for fuel cut at full boost). Idle is still slightly uneven, the engine doesn't sputter, but it shakes. Paint job leaves something better to be desired. Rims and wheels are good. Interior has some minor cracked pieces. Windshield needs replacing. 123k miles. Did not measure compression. $2000. What do you guys think? PLEASE HELP I want a TII but I need to know if I'm thoring money to the wind here.

Edit - one more thing, the steering is REALLY tight, is it supposed to be this way? I mean, I'm a moderately big guy, and I had a serious problem staying within my lane making a 90 degree right turn at about 5 or 10 mph.

Steering is very accurate in the FC. It should be much better than 90% of the other cars out there. In addition many 87 Turbos do not have power steering, which can make the steering seem even tighter.

With your description of the car I would offer $1500, as the car is not running correctly, there is cancer (rust- which the only way to get rip of is to cut out or replace the infected section) and busted plastic.

Yep, $1,500 is plenty for an 87' TII with your discription!
BTW, isnt that armstrong stearing a bitch on the 7's... I owned a 90' b2200 w/ manual stearing before I test drove a 87' TII... It was a biatch at slow speeds, thats why youve got to give the 7 what she wants! SPEED! Then she'll whip right around thows corners!

Another TII owner who was there said that the stuttering engine was just a question of getting the air/fuel mixture set right, but I'm still concerned because the engine dies at idle and shakes somewhat violently at 800rpms.

Vaccuum leak possibly. What mods are on the car? If the stock cats are still on the car they could be clogged.

downpipe on the car. I think the car may be emitting a straight gentle stream of white smoke, even at normal operating temps, does that mean it's burning coolant?
