Exclamation heavy bogging during any type of accel and it won't hold an idle

i have and 88 fc that if i can get it to hold and idle barely holds it. but as soon as i give it gas it won't come back to an idle. as well when i accelerate it bogs down hard and for a while almost stalling out. any opinions on what this could be

Well, have you read the FAQ? There might be some information in that.. Its in this category. Just look for it. its like 2 or 3 from the top. But here are some hints:

*Check your compression.
*Check for vacuum leaks
*Clogged Cat?
*TPS Needs replaced/adjusted

I think I covered most of the possibilities.

Did this happen all of a sudden, rebuild?
Check for leaks in the intake at the gaskets. Check the TPS.

i am sorry to disrespect you by not reading the faq. but i am not sure what i am looking for thats all i am sure i could have figured it out through one of my manuals or so. but i just thought i would ask. I've taken my whole intake system off three or four time in the last two weekends trying to figure this out. And once i finish working on my car I've been making calls and am on here just reading trying to figure it out. so i am sorry that i finally go fed up with reading and just asked. truly i am.

No apology needed. Stop typing and read. There's just a lot of people who repeat themselves over and over. You watch, there'll be somebody with the same question you just asked tomorrow... and the next day... and none of them will read the FAQ. Instead they'll just post.

Personally, I don't think its anybodies fault. The mods need to rename the FAQ to "Read this before posting". Because, without saying that, nobody can truly bitch.

So, with that. I would like to apologize to you.

Have you tried the basics?? Searching for the vacuum leak, if any, by spraying WD40 or carb cleaner around the gaskets slowly while the engine is running at any stable idle speed????

When the problem originally started, about a year ago from what you said, had you done anything to the car?
Was it ever running properly?
Sure you don't have a bad apex seal??

I checked for vacuum leaks the way you said. also just to make sure I didn't have any vacuum leaks i redid all my vac lines. as well i went nuts on making sure everything was sealed.

I'm sure i don't have bad apex seals its a brand new core. And no there is no blueish smoke coming out the exhaust. i bought the car with bad apex seals and replaced the motor core.

What did you replace it with? also, blue smoke doesn't mean apex seals are bad. Blue smoke would be oil control rings/o-rings.

yes that is true but in this case the motor before had six blown apex seals. i replaced it with a 13b just the stock motor core. however i did have the rotors polished if that makes any difference.

Uhm.. WHAT? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you got taken for a ride.

I don't think I've EVER seen an engine with all 6 apex seals trashed. Also... where did you replace it from? A junk yard? Did you get it rebuilt? "rotors polished" is interesting.... I hope you didn't pay extra for this.

i took my old motor apart so i know all six were trashed. but i researched the place i got my motor from they were a reputable business that specialized in rebuilt rotary motors. I've done repeat business with this guy and he hasn't let me down yet and i can talk to him personally about my issues. which i do so its not like he made it so i can't contact him plus my motor has a warranty on it.

I've got ot agree with having all 6 apex seals out. It's not very common at all but I did do it to my TurboII a few years ago.
Got to San Diego from Los angeles in about 1 hour. Yeah you heard right. On boost the whole way, it blew up 2 miles from my destination. LOL. I walked the rest, at like 4am. hahahah
Good times.

Aside from everything that was listed here my best recommendation to most people is grab the bible, not the actual Holy bible but a Haynes or chiltons guide and start going through all the troubleshooting you can handle.

It will most likely being something simple and when you discover it it will make you feel like an ***. LOL.

Good luck with it.
Keep us posted on this.
