heatshields and other questions

can i run no heatshields on a 87 turbo with an s5 turbo? ok and if i want to run no air pump do i just take it off and get a neww pulley? how do i make a TID?

yes, you can run no heat shields...... but it isnt smart! they are there for a reason! the manifold produces so much heat, that you will start producing early wear and tear on any vacuum line in close proximity to the turbo.... and everything else near it.....
if you dont want to run the air pump, just take it off.... you dont need a new pulley!! just take the airpump and its belt off.....thats all there is to it!

cool anyone else. it seams that a couple of line from the turbo aren't lining up right. what lines do i need to get off the series four and put on the series 5?

well you do need a new pulley or a yoohoo belt fix so your water pump doesnt slip at high rpm's

I run with no heatshields and have no problems. I have also replaced my vac lines with silicone hose techniques kit and it doesnt harden at all though some lines are actually touching the turbo.
