Heating Problems??

Alright, some of u might know me because I posted yesterday complaning about flooding. Turns out it wasnt flooding and my battery was just ghetto. So we did a ground from the alternator to the battery, which fixed the problem. So it starts up everytime. But now the problem is I've been driving it for a little over an hour, and the gauge for the temp of the engine was about 1/4 away from the "H". And I'm puzzled because I just changed the thermostat today and refilled the coolant. But everytime the car runs, the hose that goes from the coolant to the thermostat is hard as a rock...I dont know if that helped explain what my problem is, but im just worried that my car will over heat in the future wen i drive it for more than an hour... If someone can please help me asses the problem I'd greatly appreciate it.

Is it an oem thermostat? You might want to check if the t-stat is actually opening up and do a test if you have a blown coolant seal.
