Heater problem, need help finding a switch...
Hey guys, I have a friend that has an FC that is having heater problems. Supposedly her mechanic used to flip a switch under the dash to get the heater to work, and it would turn the heat on. Now she says it flipped back to cold, and she constantly gets cold air rather than hot. Where would this switch be located?
Thank you all in advance! ~A-Rod

There is a duct/large valve thingy that opens and closes. It is way up there behind the dashboard. Mine was sticking for a while, and for lack of a better solution, I wired a coathanger to it, so I could open and close it manually. That said, probably finding out what motor operates it and replacing/refurbishing it is the best way.

Where behind the dashboard? On the passenger or driver side of the steering wheel? How accessible is it? Can you see it just by looking under with a light?
Also, a pic would be REALLY appreciated
Again, thank you!

The whole assembly for hot and cold and such is an the tranny hump where it meets the fire wall. IF it works with a add on switch, then the logicon is most likely the cause as it controls the actuators on the air mix assembly. Mine would go from outside air to inside air because one of the actuator rods came loose, but wouldn't be the case if you (he) had it working with a switch.
you should pull the logicon, and check the wiring, including removing that switch and making the wire loom as stock as possible again. Then find a working logicon to replace your with.
Just my $.02
