Question Heater core

I got an 86 gxl and I cannot figure out how to get the heater core out I got the controle panel out but I cant figure out what to do next any help or a good website would be awesome

it says not to hook up the hoses that run to the heater core is that really bad cuz thats what I did but I havent started it like that yet

Sorry I read it wrong it says not to connect the hoses back to the heater core and yeah I realize why not to do that
