I am replacing it with the header today and dont want to cut or ruin the heat shield for if I sell the car

is there some other way to remove it?

Yeah, there are 4 little studs(you need a 10mm wrench),2 on top,2 underneath.Undo them and the heat shield comes off in one piece. There are 2 similar studs on the side which when removed allow you to separate the pieces of the heat shield. It is usually better to do this off the car unless the studs are in very good condition.
With respect to the other 4 studs, there is a good chance some may break off.In which case you can have fun drilling the broken studs out of the manifold.
