when i got the car their was no shifter boot i can see the ground lookin at the shifter and heat comes from it makin my car really hot what piece am i missing please help 87 rx7 n/a

You need the middle boot set, about halfway down:

I also need to purchase this. It got SUPER hot in my car today... Heat was flowing in through the shifter boot.

 

you might be missing the heat shield too

 

Those boots will help. There is also some sound deadening material that belongs in there. It's that stuff mice like to use in their nests. It's found under the carpets and on the inside of the firewall. I'm not sure of the proper name.

 

where do i get the deadening material at????
